While academic degrees, professional certifications, work experience and competences are good attributes to possess in a work setting, hiring experts and business leaders in the 21st century are being challenged by the reality of the possibility of a missing link. Some of the most skilful officers and even C-Suite executives have been fired across the globe. This is certainly not all for lack of experience, qualification or competences that organizations both locally and internationally have failed and gone into oblivion or their business leaders in jail. Our findings thus far show that the missing link in advanced talent management is an inadequate focus on the “CHARACTER QUOTIENT”(CQ) of the workforce.
